Vision: to enhance biodiversity and natural ecosystems within the local environment
Mission: to raise awareness of, protect and enhance the local environment
Newham & District Landcare Group was started in May 2004 by Jim Sansom.
Major goals: 1) Protection and enhancement of remnant vegetation and revegetating areas that will provide links between remnants. This encompasses pest plant and animal control, rehabilitation of waterways and roadside activities. 2) Development of Newham community through shared involvement in activities that enhance our environment in the broadest sense. This encompassesinvolvement with Newham Primary School and the Newham Garden Club.
